Beginning Tuesday, May, 31, stop by any branch – Lenoir, Southern, or Hudson – to pick up your summer reading materials.  

Kids and Babies

Kids from birth to 12 years old earn free books and prizes for reading. Plus, the library hosts over 100 of fun events and activities, including special guests this summer! Stop by your library branch to pick up your registration packet starting May 31. Then, start logging your reading. Remember, all reading counts, including graphic novels, ebooks, and audiobooks. Kids 3 & up get a book for every 300 minutes read (up to 1200 minutes) and $1 in book bucks for every 30 minutes read. Use your book bucks to buy prizes from our prize catalog, while supplies last. Littles from birth to 2 years old get a book for every 15 days read (up to 60 days) and earn $2 in book bucks for every 3 days read. All kids can use their book bucks to buy prizes from our prize catalog, while supplies last. When you finish your log, you'll be entered in our end-of-summer prize drawing. Logs must be turned in by 5:30 pm on Friday, August 12th to be entered in the prize drawing. For more information about Kids Summer Reading, click here.

Teens

Each teen will receive a Summer Reading bag that contains some summer-time goodies and a Summer Reading bookmark. As you read this summer, record your books on the bookmark. After you read seven books, bring your completed bookmark back to any branch to get a free book and a chance to win the Grand Prize. The last day to return a complete bookmark is Saturday, August 13. Teen Summer Reading is for teens ages 13-18.

Adults

Bookopoly is back again this summer!  For each Bookopoly that you complete, your name will be entered into a drawing for a GRAND prize.  To complete a Bookopoly, you must read three books in the same color category.  To receive a CCPL bag for participating and to be entered in the drawing, the Bookopoly boards must be returned by Saturday, August 13, 2022.
